RAPHAEL PINAUD (Head of Lab/Assistant Professor)
Raphael Pinaud earned a B.Sc. in Biology/Genetics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1999, an M.Sc. in Anatomy and Neurobiology from Dalhousie University, Canada, in 2001, and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, OR, USA, in 2005. Dr. Pinaud conducted post-doctoral training at the University of Toronto, Canada, and at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. In 2007, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Rochester, and became the Director of the Laboratory of Sensory Plasticity and Learning. Dr. Pinaud also holds Assistant Professorships in the Center for Visual Science, and the Center for Navigation and Communication Sciences at the University of Rochester.

LIISA TREMERE (Research Assistant Professor)
Liisa Tremere obtained her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg in 1994. After earning a Ph.D. from Dalhousie University, Canada, in 2000, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Arizona, OHSU and Duke University. She became a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences in 2007. Dr. Tremere's research program encompasses the molecular and physiological basis of experience-dependent plasticity in sensory systems.

JIN JEONG (Post-Doctoral Fellow)
Jin Kwon Jeong earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biology from the University of Ulsan, in South Korea, where he worked with molecular neuroscience. He subsequently worked with songbird neurobiology as a Research Assistant at the Oregon Health & Science University, from 2000 to 2004, before returning to his native country for his graduate studies. Dr. Jeong obtained, in 2007, a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Ulsan, South Korea, where he studied the molecular mechanisms underlying hypothalamic-driven homeostatic behaviors. |
